with its endless fields of sunflowers and wheat, carpathian mountains in the west, crimea in the south, and sprawling steppe of the east – ukraine, the bread basket of euopre, is a beautiful country. sometimes when winter lasts what feels like more than half the year it’s easy to forget just how gorgeous ukraine can be in the spring and summer. the warmer months showcase ukraine at its greenest, most fertile state, when ukraine is at its finest, at its best.
everything i love about ukraine in the spring/summer is captured in this video made by two touring dutch cyclists*. i give them serious props for venturing to the land of cyrillic without really knowing the language. but they seem to prove in the end that a form of universal language and hospitality does in fact exist. despite what almost seems like a paid endorsement from roshen chocolate at the end, the video is really well done. enjoy : )
*i wondered why their german sounded so pretty, turns out it wasn’t german at all, it’s dutch! shows how much i know! i stand corrected.
